Michigan Defensive Back Announces He's Returning For 2024 Season

Michigan cornerback Quinten Johnson skipped the 2024 NFL Draft.

Johnson, who entered the draft earlier this year, revealed Tuesday that he'll return to Ann Arbor for his sixth season.

"After heavy consideration of the current status of an injury suffered late in last year's national championship run, I have decided to forgo the NFL and return to the University of Michigan for one more year," he wrote. "With that being said it's time to win another National Championship!"

Johnson has 22 tackles and an interception in 15 games last season. He forced a fumble in Michigan's Rose Bowl win over Alabama.

The 2018 recruit was not among the record 18 Michigan players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Johnson will rejoin Sherrone Moore's team instead of attending the school's pro day this month.

He may have announced after signing a new NIL deal. A local car dealership shared a photo of Johnson in front of a Mercedes-Benz on Monday night.
